Brid.TV Video Platform 4.0 Release

After the release of BridTV Video Player 3.0, which made our player one of the fastest (if not THE FASTEST) video players on the market. Offering groundbreakingly built-in features (BridTV GEO Module) and the release of our White-Label video platform solution has led to the next video platform update, which brings our player to a new level of performance and speed.

Our update was in making for the last few months and our core team has been extremely busy with fine-tuning all the facets of the platform, based on the feedback and requests from publishers. As a result, significant improvements and upgrades were made to the platform and to the video player as well.

Built on the back of previous Platform Release 3.9.9, the latest update features the following changes:

  • Our YouTube syndication process has been slightly changed so that now you’ll need to manually syndicate each video to YouTube when adding video into Brid. This change was made so that our autosave system does not accidentally save too early and thus syndicate your video with incomplete metadata to YouTube. This also means that you can easily pick and choose which video you do or don’t want to syndicate to YouTube.
  • Our Google Structured Data integration has been changed and now you are able to enable/disable the display of it right on the screen where you grab the embed code for your videos. We’ve also removed all structured data from our embed codes if this option is disabled.
  • Fixed a ‘delete video’ from a playlist bug.
  • Added the third option for the players’ end screen.

  • The player has been redesigned completely. All player animations have either been shortened or removed and translated to CSS instead of JavaScript. The end result is a much smoother experience with the player’s UI and less laggy/choppy behavior.
  • The players’ playlist screen has been totally reworked and is now much more user-friendly, especially on mobile devices.
  • The player has an additional option so you can force load the player’s HLS plugin. Useful for certain situations where you have generic URL to an m3u8 video stream. See our developer section for more information on how to use it.

This update enforces a long-in-the-making improvement to our live streaming capabilities released earlier in August 2018. Just to recap, we’ve migrated the entire system so now it has a completely new infrastructure. You can expect the following improvements:

  • Support for more concurrent viewers
  • Better latency
  • Less frame drops
